9/29/25 Read carefully the updated Team Qualifications for HARO. For 2025-26, we will try a new model to alleviate the extra burden on teams of the hosting site. Subject to review, if we are short of judges at State.

10/1/25 If you are still waiting for access to the Member Area and the long-term problems, and you know that your membership is already active, please contact your Regional Director, specifying your school name.

10/4/25 The system is now open for teams who wish to submit any team clarifications requests. Read about clarifications here. You must have a personal coach account and create your team, before you can submit a team clarification.

10/09/25 Please note that two forms are updated for 2025. If you downloaded your forms early, you may want to download again the Team Contract and TX Medical Release form.

10/12/25 MARK YOUR CALENDARS: HARO competition is now confirmed on February 21st at Springwoods Village Middle School, 1120 Crossgate Blvd, Spring, TX 77373.
Judge Training will be held on Saturday afternoon, January 31st at The Kipling School, 518 Shepherd Drive, Houston, Texas 77007

10/18/25 Reminder that teams should be created in the Portal by end of September. Team rosters should be entered when your team starts discussing the long-term problem. Target date: end of October. These targets are intended for teams who started meeting before Oct 10. Late teams must update their roster by Nov 10.

10/25/25 The last Coach Training session was successful! Late starting teams should target to start meeting soon and have their roster registered by November 10.

10/28/25 The new portal does not track individual team member schools. If your team contains members from a school other than the membership, please email your Regional Director the team detailed roster by Nov 15th, with each member school, to obtain confirmation of qualification.

11/02/25 Start recruiting your team judge! Judge registration will open early November. The majority of teams provide a team parent as the judge. Team parents and teachers can also use this flyer to recruit a judge amongst their peers and friends.

11/04/25 OMER Talks are starting again, the second Wednesday of each month at 6 pm CT. These are open forum virtual sessions led by experts who explore topics the Odyssey way! Coaches are strongly encouraged to participate. All coaches registered in the portal will soon receive an email from OdysseyHQ with a link to register. View details and previous webinars here.

11/07/25 Problems 3 and 5 are filling up in Houston. Register your team by end of day on Nov 10. If your membership activation is still in progress, you can do register by email to the Regional Director.

11/10/25 Judge Registration is now open until Dec 15th, 2025. All team judges for competitive teams must register themselves by the deadline. Coaches cannot register on their behalf. Judges should start here.

11/12/25 Reminder: Co-coaches with a portal account can access all the resources in the Member-Area. Use first button on the left quick-links.

11/14/25 Several teams asked about Volunteer Registration. This will open late January as soon as we have a competition plan with volunteer shifts.

11/16/25 Any late registering team is considered late starting. At the moment, problems 1, 3 & 5 are close to full. We may not open additional competition venues for late teams and you are very welcome where space is available.

11/17/25 Announcement: Problem 1 is full, any additional teams will be on waiting list. Problems 2 & 4 are close to full. We are opening a new venue for problems 3 & 5. In addition, some teams with low participation are automatically on the waiting list, you have received a targeted notification.

What’s Happening in November 2025:

Coach Training Season is over. If you are just starting, feel free to use our Coach Training materials here.

ALL teams must be registered in the portal by now. Later starting teams should register their teams by Nov 10th. Details are available here. This is required for ALL teams that are working on Odyssey of the Mind problems, even if they do not intend to participate in a competition. Participating in Competition is not required; but Team Registration is.

Teams are usually well into their long-term problem solving. A good target is to complete the first draft of the script by mid-December and work on a list of tasks that must take place within their solution, backdrops, props and costumes to be built.

OMER Talk for November 2025: From Problem to Possibility — The Odyssey Approach. A new season, filled with fresh challenges and creative twists, but the heart of Odyssey remains the same: imagination, teamwork and magic.

Talk to your team parents. One parent is usually the volunteer judge to give the team their required judge credit. Judge registration will be open from mid-November to Dec 15th.
